Biography

Born near Düsseldorf, in the Missipppi Delta of electronic music, Roman Ridder discovered early his love for house and minimal music. Since taking his first steps as a composer native to the C64 SID soundchip Roman created small soundscapes for commercial usage and worked as a DJ. In 2013 one of Roman‘s tracks was used as a theme for the Düsseldorf-based A+A trade fair.

ROMAN RIDDER

I grew up in the Lower Rhine area and I owe my love for electronic music not only to Kraftwerk, but also to other bands/musicians of the 80s who made electronic music (Jean Michel Jarre, Front 242, Propaganda etc.). In the early/mid 90s I started to buy my first smaller synthesizers to make electronic music on a small scale myself. In 2002 I moved to Düsseldorf and my little “recording studio” got a bit bigger over time. In 2013 a track of mine was used at the fashion show of the Düsseldorf fair A+A.
Then in 2015 I released my first 2-track EP on the portal ‘Bandcamp’. Since then I have released more EP’s and albums via Bandcamp and done remixes for various labels.
My two favorite styles of electronic music are Dub Techno and Ambient in various facets.
