Wet Basement

Davide Tonini alias “Wet Basement” was born and raised in Rimini, Italy, a city known for its rich cultural heritage and vibrant artistic community. From a young age, Tonini displayed a deep passion for music, which would later become the cornerstone of his life and career.

In 1993, Tonini began experimenting with music composition, using an Amiga 500 and Protracker software, a popular setup among budding electronic musicians of the time. This period marked the beginning of his exploration into electronic soundscapes, laying the foundation for his future works.

A significant milestone in Tonini’s musical journey occurred in 1996 with the purchase of his first hardware synthesizer. This acquisition allowed him to expand his creative horizons, enabling a more hands-on approach to sound design and production. His evolving sound began to incorporate a blend of analog warmth and digital precision, a hallmark of his later works.

2014, Davide Tonini released his debut album, **”Floating Point,”** which showcased his unique blend of ambient, deep techno, and experimental sounds. The album was well-received, establishing Tonini as a promising artist in the electronic music scene.

Over the next decade, Tonini continued to refine his craft, releasing a total of six albums by August 2024. His works have been published on various respected labels such as HDR Limit, Odrex Music, Maison Profonde Recordings, Drift Deeper Recordings, and Tronik Records. His music has gained international recognition, with many of his releases being distributed worldwide in digital formats. Notably, more than half of his albums are also available as limited-edition vinyl records or CDs, catering to audiophiles and collectors alike.

Tonini’s most recent project, “Two Steps from Future,” represents a culmination of his musical evolution. Set to be released exclusively on ARR in 2024, the album promises to push the boundaries of his sound even further, blending futuristic elements with his signature style.
